A Conference to raise awareness on the 20th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family (2014) was organized by Akademia Familijna, member of IFFD, on 3-4 April 2013 under the title of ‘Challenges for Families in the 21st Century’.
It was presided by minister Irena Wóycicka, representing the president of the Republic, and the speakers were the United Nations Focal Point on the Family, Renata Kaczmarska, and renowned experts from Poland, as economist Dariusz Winek and professor Lukasz Hardt, as well as the director general of The Family Watch and other academics. Before finishing, 22 polish family organizations took part on the kick-off meeting of a strategic alliance for the preparations and celebration of 2014 and joined the Declaration of the Civil Society on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family.
