Fertility in the European Union
According to recently published data by the statistical office of the European Union, women who gave birth to their first child in 2016 were on average 29 years old, and the total fertility rate in the EU stood at 1.60 births per woman in 2016.

Family policy and economic inequality
Using data from 18 OECD countries in the period 1981–2008, a new study shows that family policy arrangements that facilitate women’s employment and earnings are associated with less economic inequality among coupled households.
